Being an open water diver will open you up to a whole lot of new dive sites where you can experience, wrecks, reefs, and huge variety of sea life.
The upgrade from Scuba Diver to Open Water Diver consists of completing the final chapters 4+5 from your Open Water manual or online version plus a multiple choice quiz and exam.
Equipment preparation and briefing followed by the last 2 confined water sessions to build your skill level to that of an Open Water Diver.
Finally 2 more sea dives where you put those latest skills into action while enjoying the amazing marine life of the Whitsunday Islands loceated right in the great barrier reef marine park.
On completion you will be qualified to dive to a maximum of 18m and recognised as an dependent diver enabling you to dive with other qualified divers rather than an instructor. Referrals from other diving organisations are accepted with proof of basic diver qualification.

Course duration is 2 days with Theory being done ahead of time online.

What You will Learn:

  • Confined Water Dives in our training pool to learn basic scuba skills.
  • 4 Open Water Dives to review your skills and explore!
  • Have fun swimming around and exploring

Prerequisites:

  • Certified SCUBA diver
  • You must be at least 12 years old.
  • Complete a basic medical questionnaire to determine if you are fit to dive.

  • Able to swim 200 metres
  • Able to tread water for 10 minutes
